Ashley Gilbert is one of the most visible behind-the-scenes employees at the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
Ashley started with the Sheriff’s Office in May of 2016 as a traffic clerk when she move to Colorado from Arizona. If you had occasion to visit our headquarters lobby, Ashley’s smiling face would have greeted you at the counter and helped you find the information or person you were looking for. She became a Senior Records Clerk earlier this year.
Even if you have never seen Ashley at the Sheriff’s Office, you have likely seen her in many pictures we post of our special events. While she works hard every week, she also spends a considerable amount of her free time volunteering for the many causes the Sheriff’s Office supports.
“I volunteer because it’s fun and I enjoy it,” says Ashley. She adds that she finds it rewarding to meet new people. Ashley has a specific passion for supporting Special Olympics and helps at as many of those events as she can. She has taken the Polar Plunge, participated in the Plane Pull, and helped at events such as Tip-A-Cop and the Shred-a-Thon.
Ashley also tries to pass her love for volunteering on to the next generation. Her 10-year-old daughter attends many of the events with her. “I want her to know that it is a good thing to want to help people,” she says. “I want that to carry through with her when she gets older.”
Ashley’s positive attitude comes to work with her every day, which helps her get through those days when there is more work than people to do it. She loves supporting the Sheriff’s Office and the community, and is already ‘warming up’ for the next Polar Plunge!
We are thankful for Ashley, her dedication to the Sheriff’s Office, and her commitment to provide fantastic service to the community!
