The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of bronze plaques from the Palos Verdes subdivision in Centennial. The neighborhood is south east of E. Orchard Road and S. Holly Street. The bronze plaques announcing the entrance of the neighborhood were taken from the 6500 block of E. Caley Avenue in September, and again sometime between Tuesday, Jan. 5 and Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016.
The signs are solid bronze and measure about 18 inches wide by 14 inches high. They weigh about 20 pounds each and had been bolted to large landscaping rocks before being removed and taken.
The Palos Verdes Civic Association, representing the homeowners in the area, is offering a $350 reward for credible information leading to the identity of a suspect in these crimes, and/or the return of the stolen plaques. The association contributed the funds to erect the signage and they are hopeful that witnesses will come forward to identify the thief or thieves.
Anyone with information about these local crimes is asked to call the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 720-874-8477.
