National Nurses Week kicks off on May 6 to recognize the dedicated and compassionate nurses, paraprofessionals, and support staff who support the health and safety of our community through their work at Arapahoe County Public Health.
“We will take this opportunity to celebrate our achievements, acknowledge how far we have come since opening four months ago, and foster our enthusiasm to continue to serve our clients and communities,” said Melissa Spencer, Arapahoe County’s Community Health Nursing director and a registered nurse.
Nationally, the Nurses Week’s theme is: You Make a Difference—something Arapahoe County Public Health’s nursing staff does in clinical and outreach settings as well as through home visits with a variety of services:
Low- or no-cost clinics in Aurora and Englewood
Community outreach
- Access to hygiene products, contraceptives, and sterile syringes provided directly to community members by meeting with them where they are.
