Help guide the County’s future on our Citizen Boards and Committees

When you serve as a volunteer on one of our many citizen advisory bodies, you’ll provide input into the County’s decision-making process in a wide variety of areas while the County benefits from your knowledge, experience and expertise.

Applications are accepted throughout the year as vacancies arise, and these positions often have additional specific eligibility requirements. Current Vacancies

Arapahoe County Fairgrounds and Park Advisory Committee

You will: Provide input on the facility’s business plan, master plan implementation, market expansion, cost recovery goals, help identify community needs and desires.

  • 7 vacancies
  • 1 member per district and 2 at-large

Board of Adjustment

You will: Assist in interpreting and enforcing Arapahoe County's Zoning Regulations.

  • 4 vacancies
  • Vacancies are for Associate Members only

Board of Review    

You will: Assist in interpreting and enforcing Arapahoe County building codes.

  • 5 vacancies
  • 2 Regular member & 3 alternate member vacancies

Centennial Airport Community Noise Roundtable    

You will: Work with the airport to find ways to reduce and mitigate the impact of aircraft noise on surrounding communities. 

  • 2 vacancies
  • 2 alternate

Community Services Block Grant Advisory Committee    

You will: Advise the Board of County Commissioners concerning the administration of the Arapahoe County Community Services Block Grant Program.

  • 2 vacancies

CSU Extension Advisory Committee

You will: Identify local needs and help determine CSU Extension program priorities for the County.

  • 7 vacancies

Cultural Council

You will: Distribute funds to eligible non-profits and government programs focused on the arts, culture and science.

  • 3 vacancies    
  • 1 at-large; 1-aurora; 1-unincorporated

Fair Planning Committee    

You will: Plans and manage the annual project completion events for the Arapahoe County Fair. 

  • 4 vacancies

Liquor Authority    

You will: Conduct public hearings for consideration of all applications relating to new alcohol beverage licenses and more.

  • 1 vacancy
  • 1 alternate

Planning Commission  

You will: Hear requests for land-use applications and proposed amendments to the County's Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Code.

  • 1 vacancy
  • Must be Unincorporated Arapahoe County

Weed Advisory Board    

You will: Advise the Board of County Commissioners in the matters of undesirable plant management. 

  • 5 vacancies
  • The majority of the board must own 40 acres or more and must reside in Arapahoe County.
