Future community park in Four Square Mile Area

PIC_CP_Owen_Property

This week, Arapahoe County completed the acquisition of a 4.5-acre property at the corner of S. Parker Road and E. Mexico Drive, with plans to turn the site into a future community park. Site access is strictly prohibited for the foreseeable future as we move into site cleanup and demolition. For your safety and the safety of all residents, please stay off the property and keep your kids and dogs away.

In the future, there will be an extensive public outreach process to help shape the design of the park, similar to public engagement activities held over many years that guided planning and development of nearby Long’s Pine Grove and Cheyenne-Arapaho Park. Residents can expect to be able to access a portion of the property temporarily for walking at a later date.

The development of a new park in the Four Square Mile neighborhood of unincorporated Arapahoe County closely aligns with Open Spaces’ 2021 master plan objectives to improve access to nature and outdoor recreation experiences in the most urban areas of the County.

Funding for the purchase of this property was provided by the Arapahoe County Open Space Sales & Use Tax.
