Best wishes to CSU Extension Director Tim Aston

Congratulations to Arapahoe County CSU Extension Director Tim Aston! After 9 years of service with the County, Tim will retire at the end of December 2021. Horticulture Agent Lisa Mason has been named Interim Director. Lisa has been with Arapahoe County CSU Extension for 3.5 years.

This year, Tim was also the CSU Extension Front Range-South Interim Regional Director. Additionally, he was the CSU Extension Douglas County Interim Director for one year in 2017. Tim specialized in renewable energy systems and was the residential program manager for Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy program in Littleton, Englewood, and Centennial. Tim also notably started Craft Brew Festival (now “Pours on the Plains”) in 2014, a highly popular event held each year during the Fair.

On any given day, you might see Tim with shovel in hand, helping the Master Gardeners prepare a community garden bed for plantings; supporting staff at the 4-H events during Fair; doing community outreach to promote energy efficiency; compiling reports for the state CSU Extension Office and other office administration; and so much more.

The Open Spaces and the CSU Extension team want to extend our sincerest thanks to Tim for the impact he has made on staff and our community, and for his support over the years. We wish Tim all the best in retirement and life’s next adventures!
