The 2020 Open Spaces Annual Report is hot off the press, and we’d like to share some exciting news about the impact of the program on local communities. If the last year has taught us anything, it is the immense value of our parks, trails, and open spaces.
The Open Spaces program is made possible by a voter-approved, quarter-cent Open Space Sales and Use Tax. This means that for every $100 dollars spent in Arapahoe County, 25 cents go to supporting our open spaces, parks and trails.
It is thanks to County residents and our local agency partners that we are able to do the work we do—and see real results in our community, from safer playgrounds to new trail connections improving access, to stream restoration work protecting wildlife habitat.
Read about what the Open Spaces department accomplished in 2020 and exciting plans in the works as we look ahead.
