As expected, this year’s presidential election featured impassioned interest from voters across the country. In Colorado, the share of eligible voters who cast ballots rose from 72.7% in 2016 to 76.8% this year, one of the highest levels in the U.S.
In Arapahoe County, voter turnout hit 84.9% as of Thursday morning, with some ballots yet to be counted. This year’s ballot had a host of measures for consideration, and it’s clear that voters were unusually enthusiastic this year about making their voices heard despite the COVID-related measures that have complicated so many things lately.
There still are a number of processes that need to be completed before the election is certified in Colorado on Nov. 12, but the Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners and Clerk and Recorder’s office want to thank everyone who voted this year and helped us conduct a safe and robust election.
