New and improved park reopens in Byers

On July 25, 2020, the town of Byers celebrated the grand reopening of the Byers Community Park. Since 2013, Arapahoe County Open Spaces has granted Byers Park and Recreation District a total of nearly $400,000 in planning and construction funds to create this new and improved park. Colorado Health Foundation gave an additional $115,000.

The planning and construction project included: demolition of old park amenities, site work and drainage improvements, a new playground, picnic shelter, walkways, turf lawn and landscaping.

“This is a great example of the power of partnerships and our mission in action,” says Commissioner Jeff Baker. “Arapahoe County Open Spaces invests in projects like this from corner to corner, from the Eastern Plains to Littleton. Parks improve quality of life and are important community gathering places, and we are thrilled to support Byers with this incredible transformation.”

Congratulations to Byers Park and Recreation District for the vision and all the hard work it took to make this project a reality. We hope the Byers community falls in love with the park as much as we have!
