Arapahoe County Board of Commissioners' statement on Tri-County extension

The Tri-County Health Department has the legal authority to issue, modify or withdraw all public health orders in Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas counties. The data that Tri-County provided about the COVID-19 situation in Arapahoe County indicates that the spread of the virus has not slowed enough to reopen most Arapahoe County businesses safely, which is why the Tri-County Board of Health voted to extend the current Stay at Home order for Arapahoe County through May 8

The Board will continue to work with the County’s community and business partners, and to provide feedback to the health department, helping to inform a course of action that most effectively balances economic and public health considerations throughout the County. The Commissioners are grateful for our residents’ and business owners’ patience, understanding and commitment to ensuring the safety of all our residents during this unprecedented and ongoing crisis.
