ARAPAHOE COUNTY – Investigators arrested a man who fired his gun during an argument with a victim over picking up dog waste. The suspect is 38-year-old Jonathan Emile Dismel of unincorporated Arapahoe County. See booking photo attached.
Dismel was taken into custody at 5:00 pm on February 27. A warrant was issued for his arrest and a search warrant was served on his apartment at 8828 E. Florida Ave. He was in possession of a handgun at the time of his arrest.
On the evening of February 26, Dismel and another man were walking their dogs near S. Parker Rd. and E. Florida Ave. They began arguing about picking up after their dogs and it’s believed Dismel fired a handgun. At the time, a reserve 911 call went out to the area asking people to shelter in place while deputies searched for the suspect.
Dismel was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail where he’s being held without bond on suspicion of the following charges:
Possession of a weapon by a previous offender
Prohibited use of weapons
