[ARCHIVED] Arapahoe County to close six facilities on Election Day, except voting services

Closure Notice November 6

Arapahoe County will close several facilities on Nov. 6 Election Day, with the exception of voting services. These closures are intended to free up personnel to assist with election duties, as well as make parking spaces available at busy polling places, where voter turnout is expected to be high.

  • All Clerk and Recorder Branch Offices will be closed Nov. 6, and will reopen to the public at 10 a.m., Nov. 7. This includes all Motor Vehicle, Driver’s License, Passport and Recording services. Clerk and Recorder personnel will assist with processing ballots and other election duties late into the evening.
  • Human Services at CentrePoint Plaza at 14980 E. Alameda Dr., Aurora will be closed. This facility will operate only as a Voter Service and Polling Center from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., and a ballot drop-off box is available in the parking lot.
  • Lima Plaza at 6924-6964 S. Lima St., Centennial will be closed, except for voting and probation services. Closures include the Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Workforce Center, Public Works and Development, CSU Extension, Open Spaces and Judicial Services. The conference room at 6954 S. Lima St. will be open as a Voter Service and Polling Center from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. A ballot drop-off box is available outside near the parking lot.
  • Arapahoe/Douglas Works! Satellite Office at 15400 E. 14th Place, Aurora will also close at the request of management, in order to conduct professional development meetings.

The Board of County Commissioners approved the campus closures at the request of Clerk and Recorder Matt Crane in order to accommodate voters on Election Day. Employees at these campuses will report to work as scheduled, and may be called on to assist with election duties.

All other County offices will be open to the public as normal Nov. 6, including the Administration Building in Littleton, Sheriff’s Administration in Centennial, and Human Services satellite at Arapahoe Plaza in Littleton.

Voters must be in line at a ballot box or Voter Service and Polling Center by 7 p.m. on Election Day in order to cast their ballot. Find your nearest Voter Service and Polling Center at www.arapahoevotes.com.
