David C. Walcher, Arapahoe County Sheriff, is pleased to announce that Taylor Rapp is this year’s recipient of the County Sheriffs of Colorado (CSOC) scholarship award for Arapahoe County.
This year, CSOC, Colorado’s state sheriffs’ association, offered 31 awards of $500 each to deserving high school and college students in Colorado to fund higher-level educational expenses for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Taylor was also chosen by CSOC to receive their overall $1,000 scholarship, selected by a CSOC committee from the 31 county winners.
A citizens’ committee selected the winner for each county. County committees made their selections based upon criteria established by CSOC, including leadership, merit, character, involvement, purpose and need. Applicants were required to be full-time, legal Colorado residents who planned to attend a Colorado university, college or trade school.
Taylor will be graduating from Littleton High School later this month. In the fall, she will attend Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, with plans to major in Criminal Justice. Taylor is also an Explorer for the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, where she volunteers her time while learning about law enforcement as a career.
Congratulations Taylor!
