Infrastructure Design and Construction Standards

The County’s Infrastructure Design and Construction Standards detail the minimum design and technical criteria for analysis and design of roadway facilities. All subdivisions, re-subdivisions, planned unit developments, or any other proposed construction submitted for approval under the provisions of the Arapahoe County Subdivision Regulations shall include adequate roadway system analysis and appropriate roadway system design. Such analysis and design shall conform to the criteria set forth in the Infrastructure Design and Construction Standards.

Options to comply with the provisions of these Standards may be provided by the applicant. However, it shall be the responsibility of the applicant to demonstrate that an option meets or exceeds the minimum criteria contained herein. Policies and technical criteria not specifically addressed in this document shall follow the design recommendations of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) “Policies on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets”, the latest edition and the “Standard Construction Specifications” of the Colorado Department of Transportation.
