Picnic Shelters Available for Drop-in Use
Arapahoe County’s picnic shelters are available for public use on a first-come, first-served basis and are non-reservable. All shelter users must abide by shelter Rules and Regulations (below). Call the Open Spaces Department at 720-874-6540 for more information.

Features: Six picnic tables, drinking fountain, natural play area, vault toilet restrooms, parking lot, adjacent to Cherry Creek Regional Trail. ADA parking and access.

Features: Four picnic tables in the shelter and 7 others on-site, drinking fountain, charcoal disposal bin, 2-5- and 5–12-year-old playgrounds, large turf play area, vault toilet restrooms, parking lot for cars and trailers, adjacent to Highline Canal Trail. ADA parking and access.

Picnic Shelter Rules and Regulations
- All shelters are closed dusk to dawn.
- Users will observe all posted park regulations as well as local ordinances, laws, and health codes.
- Users should provide minimal impacts to the shelter and surrounding public spaces. This includes leashing dogs, minimizing sound amplification, and sharing the use of site amenities.
- Grilling is permitted within parks that contain a charcoal disposal bin or with the use of propane grills at picnic shelters and in parking lots when no fire restrictions apply.
- Recreation amenities such as playgrounds, large inflatables or structures, tetherball, volleyball courts, ball fields, trampolines, horseshoe pits, tree houses, rope swings and archery ranges not constructed by the County are prohibited. Personal items shall not be affixed to structures, signs, and posts without being permitted in writing by the County. Attaching personal items to trees is prohibited.
- Users will ensure vehicles only travel and park in designated areas. Fire lanes, emergency, and handicap zones must be maintained free of obstructions. Vehicles are not allowed in or on turf or open spaces areas.
- Consumption of alcohol is permitted. Glass containers are prohibited. Users will comply with all applicable local, state, and federal liquor laws.
- Stakes, anchoring devices or poles that would be installed deeper than 6 inches are not allowed. Any damage to underground utilities or irrigation will be the responsibility of the park user.
- Paints including spray-paint and paint-balls, marking paints, dyes, powders, glitter, and chalk are prohibited.
- Users are responsible for leaving the picnic shelter and surrounding areas in a clean and orderly condition. Trash must be properly disposed of in provided containers or if containers are full disposed off-site.
