The purpose of the auxiliary or volunteer program is to provide local community members fulfilling opportunities to use their skills and experience to assist the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office in providing a high level of service to the community and to strengthen the relationship between the agency and the community.
The volunteer program supplements the efforts of paid law enforcement staff to facilitate internal services and programs. It serves as a means for residents and local workers to become familiar with the sheriff’s office, and it creates opportunities for individuals to attain personal satisfaction while performing a valuable service for the community.
The auxiliary’s work in a variety of assignments within the sheriff’s office is based on the availability and needs of the agency. Assigned units may include, but are not limited to:
- Public Safety Bureau
- Crime Prevention
- Community Resources
