I-25/Belleview Interchange System Study

What: The I-25/Belleview Interchange System Study is a transportation study that will help to shape the future of Belleview Avenue from Monaco Street on the west to DTC Boulevard on the east, including the I-25 interchange.

The plan outlined improvements for automobile, mass transit, pedestrian and bicycle traffic along this major arterial.

The study process included:
  • Existing condition/data collection
  • Future conditions and projection
  • Alternative development and analysis
  • Recommendation and implementation plan
  • Public involvement and comments
Why: Belleview Avenue carries 50,000 vehicles per day through Greenwood Village, Denver and unincorporated Arapahoe County. This number is expected to increase to 60,000 by 2035. It’s important to begin planning for improvements now that will relieve congestion, provide a safe and reliable roadway and minimize impacts on local businesses and residents in the future. The study will help to inform local and regional transportation plans.
Funding Partners: Arapahoe County, City of Greenwood Village, City and County of Denver, Southeast Public Improvement Metropolitan District and Greenwood North Metropolitan District
Study Timeline: Fall 2012 to Fall 2013
