Releasing of Records

The Records Section is guided by the privacy and security acts as directed by national, state and interagency regulations. Proper identification may be requested but is not a  mandatory requirement for the release of public records. If a request is over the telephone, discretion is used regarding what information can be provided. If there is a question involving the release of information in a specific situation, Records Section personnel will contact the records supervisor. All reports will be screened for confidential information prior to release.
