Humane Education
Live Humanelykitten
Humane education is defined as the teaching of compassion and respect related to animal welfare, environmental, and social justice issues.

You can protect animals and people by setting a good example and demonstrating to others the importance of treating animals with kindness and respect. Make sure to talk to your kids about how to treat animals properly. Children understand that animals are living creatures who have the ability to feel pain, joy and sadness.

A few things everyone can do:
  • Spread the word! Never miss an opportunity to educate those around you about the importance of caring for animals.
  • Plan a drive or project that can further the importance of caring for animals.
  • Volunteer with your local animal organization or shelter.
  • Include animals in daily activities. Read a story, visit a zoo or aquarium, or go for a nature walk to look for and identify wildlife.
