The Community Resources Unit's responsibilities include:
Conducting security surveys of residential, commercial and industrial businesses.
Developing and coordinating department crime prevention information programs.
Developing crime prevention displays and seminars for the community and businesses.
Developing standardized architectural improvements for security design (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design.)
Working closely with Public Safety Bureau personnel to provide crime prevention materials and information.
Purpose and Priorities Two deputies are assigned as Crime Prevention Specialists providing educational programs and safety information to local businesses and homeowner associations.
Crime Prevention is a top priority for the Sheriff's Office, requiring the cooperation of law enforcement and the community, working together toward a common goal.
