Arapahoe County's budget provides funding for services, programs and projects that support the mission, vision and values of the county as directed by the Board of County Commissioners. The budget document provides information on current budgets and staffing levels for the county’s elected offices and departments, the current economic factors that impact the development of the budget, trends in revenues and expenditures and the recommendations of the Executive Budget Committee.

The County operates on an annual budget cycle with a fiscal year of January 1 through December 31. The budget documents include the annual budgets for Arapahoe County, the Arapahoe County Recreation District, Arapahoe County Building Finance Corporation, the Arapahoe County Water and Wastewater Public Improvement District, and the Arapahoe Law Enforcement Authority.

As part of the annual budget development process, a recommended budget is developed and submitted to the Board of County Commissioners prior to October 15th per statute.  The recommended budget contains information on the expected revenue and expenditures including requests submitted by the elected offices and departments to be considered for incorporation in next year’s budget.  The 2018 recommended budget was presented to the Board of County Commissioners at a public hearing on October 10, 2017.  The public hearing on the budget is scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2017.
